This date has evolved into an unofficial “holiday” for some, observed by smoking or otherwise consuming marijuana. Known as “4-20”, this term has become code for a time to get high not only on April 20th but throughout the year. Redwood students in prior years have reported kids getting high multiple times throughout this day, beginning from 12:01 am and continuing through 11:59 pm, as well as coming to class high. It is advised that parents know your teens’ whereabouts, ensure they are supervised, and discuss disciplinary consequences at school and at home and the health risks of using this drug to teens.
